Electrical General Services department is responsible for electric power supply installation upkeep and maintenance. CLW receives electric power supply from Maithon hydro-electric substation of DVC at 33KV by overhead lines and which is supplemented by6MW Solar electricity generation system. The contract demand of CLW is 9MVA. This power supply is utilized in electric loco production workshops, steel foundry and CLW township. There is a network of 33 KM of overhead 11KV power lines and about 31.3KM of 11KV underground cable lines to feed energy to Distribution Sub-stations. For distribution of power to end user, there is network of 196KM overhead 415V distribution lines and about 16KM, underground cables and total 23 nos. 11KV/440V substations for workshopand 43nos. for township and 04Nos. for water pumping stations.
